Crochet Pattern ♥ Trick-Or-Treat Bag

Are you guys ready for some last minute DIY patterns well you're in luck because I have two really cute crochet patterns that I will be sharing with you guys this week! Last start off with the first,  it's on how to crochet a  trick-or-treating bag.

If you were like me growing up your probably remember carrying that neon orange plastic pumpkin head all Halloween night awaiting for it to be filled up to the brim with scrumptious candy. Well I decided to make a crochet version that is as equally cute as the classic Halloween pail but just a little softer. By the way this bag may not be the ideal trick-or-treating bag for your typical trick-or-treater's who want a abundant of candy falling out of their bags as they run from house to house searching for even more candy but if your child you plan on just going to a few houses enough to satisfy your sugar cravings then this bag is perfect for the children you.

What you need:
- Orange worsted yarn
- I /5.50 crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Black felt (optional)
- Lining fabric (optional)
- Glue

Abbreviations + tips
ch - chain
st(s) - stitch(es)
sl st - slip stitch
tr - treble crochet
sc - single crochet

* You know you've completed a round when I place a "." at the end.
* At the end of each row (in the pattern) I let you know how many stitches you should have.
* (work whatever is in here first) before you work [whatever is between these]
* If anything seems off let me know I wrote this pattern as I was crocheting it so there could be a few flaws within the pattern.

Bag base (make 2)
- Ch 6 and sl st to first st to form circle (more you can make a magic circle)
- Ch 3, work 12 tr sts in the circle, sl st 1st st. 12 sts
- Ch 3, work 2 tr sts in each of the sts, sl st 1st st. 24sts
- Ch 3, work 24 tr sts, sl st 1st st. 24 sts
- Ch 3, (work 1 tr st in next st, 2 tr in next st, repeat throughout round) sl st to 1st st. 36 sts
- Ch 3, [work 1 tr in each of the next 6 sts, (1 tr st in next st, 2 tr in next st, repeat x6), repeat x1], sl st to 1st st. 48 sts.
- Ch 3, [(work 2 tr in next st, 1 tr in next st, repeat x2), 18 tr, repeat], sl st to 1st st. 54 sts
- Ch 3, work 2 tr in next st, 1 tr in next st, repeat throughout round, sl st to 1st st. 81 sts
- Ch 3, work 81 tr sts in each of the 81 sts. 81 sts
Cut off leaving a long tail

Straps (make two)
- Ch 50 sts
- Sc staring from the second ch from hook. Work 49 sc, ch 1 and turn. 49 sts
- Work 49 sts. ch 1 and turn (repeat x1)
Cut off leaving a long tail

Next is sewing time! With a yarn needle sew the two circle pieces together but leave a hole big enough for your candy to get in (I left a 22 st gap for my bag). Sew on the two straps near where the candy gap ends. Weave in any loose ends.

You can either crochet small parts for the face or cut out some eyes and a mouth on black felt and glue it on like I did. You can also line the bag inside with fabric if you want to make sure all the candy doesn't poke out through the bag.

Now your bag is ready for candy!

What is your favorite trick-or-treat candy?

Halloween Idea ♥ Dia De Los Muertos Pinata Cookies

Growing up in a Mexican household, I always wished celebrated Dia De Los Muertos (also known as Day of the Dead). It's a Mexican holiday in which you pay respects to the deceased by bringing them food and other possessions. It happens on October 31 through November 2.

In honor of Dia De Los Muertos and Halloween, me and my sister made these sugar skull pinata cookies. We used the same pinata cookie recipe we used to make the Sailor Moon brooch cookies.   I would've taken more pictures but unfortunately the cookies were all gone before I could snap more.

We followed the directions in the pinata cookie video but we used sugar skull cookie cutters instead to create the skull shape and faces. I decorated most of the cookies by tracing the skull face imprints with various colorful cake frosting (I used a toothpick to control the details better).

Here is what the inside of the cookies look like. You can choose whatever candy to put inside. We used mini M&M's and they worked perfectly!

Do any of you celebrate Dia De Los Muertos?

Book Review ♥ Crochet with One Sheepish Girl

Whenever I need to get inspired for my next crochet project I hop on over to One Sheepish Girl, it's a crochet paradise filled with crafty inspiration in every post! Crochet with One Sheepish Girl is Meredith's first crochet book to come out and it's a whimsical wonderland for a crocheter like myself. For today's blogtober post I wanted to share a few of the projects I've made so far.

My favorite pattern from the back has to be the teacup coasters hands down! I've made three already and can't stop making them! The pattern is really fun and simple to make, the second part can be confusing at first though. I think these would make great gifts.

This was the first project I made from the book, it's the latte  plush. I free handed the latte art on top because I couldn't quite grasp the tracing paper concept but I think it came out alright. I would recommend not to stuff the top part of the latte too much because mine looks like it's over flowing!

So for my next OSG project I want to make something a little more complex. I narrowed down my top 3 favorite projects which one should I make next? This cute stripe bow clutch?

This adorable crochet pattern holder?

Or should I crochet this cute camera bag?

Overall I highly recommend the One Sheepish Girl crochet book. It has a bunch of really cute crochet patterns to make that are simple and don't take that much time at all.

What should my next project be?

My Top 5 ♥ More Skincare Tips

It's time for another round of my skincare tips! If you saw my last skincare tips post then you guys know that I am a huge skincare junkie and love to research about this kind of stuff so I decided to post 5 more skincare tips in today's post. I hope you enjoy and learn something new!

1. Invest more in skincare then makeup
There is a reason why most skincare products cost more then other beauty products because they are basically "the fountain of youth". Skincare products can help heal, prevent, diminish, rejuvenate, replenishes, etc your face and make you look younger. So next you find your self debating between a $30 mascara or a $60 night cream think about which one will last longer in the long run.

2. Prevent first, worry later
I sometimes use anti-acne products not because I have acne (cause I don't) but because I want to prevent the appearance of acne from appearing. I've never had acne but it does run in my family (both my sisters have/had acne) so there could be a chance that I get it in the future so I'm preventing my skin by using acne prone products. The same goes for anti-aging, start using anti-wrinkle products before you actually get them to see better results.

3. Never sleep with your makeup
So you arrive home from a very eventful day and you are completely exhausted but you scurry to your bed to find you still have your makeup on. What to do? Take the 2-4 minutes to wash your face or take a simple makeup wipe and remove SOME of your makeup? Wash your face! If you sleep with makeup on it not only breaks you out but also ages your skin and nobody wants that.

4. Try to use natural products
Just like how you eat try to use natural skincare products with ingredients that come from the earth. Most skincare products could contain harmful chemicals and can make your skin even worse then before. So if you can try to use natural products that doesn't test on animals,

5. Know how to layer your skincare
After you cleanse and toner, what comes next? Depending on what your skincare routine is like your skin regime may very but follow these rules:
- Cleanse
- Toner
- Any medicinal treats such as, acne or scaring creams (non-moisturizers)
- Moisturizer
- Sunscreen or any SPF products

After that follow the weight rule and apply on the lighter product (serum, essence, emulsion, etc). End with the heaviest cream last so that it can fully skin into your skin at night.

Game Review ♥ Super Smash Bros

If you are a gamer then you have probably heard of the video game 'Super Smash Bros'. it's a game that was origanlly out for the Game Cube years ago. Recently Nintendo came out with an new portable version for the Nintendo 3DS. A lot of people (including me) have been waiting for this game since it was announced last year and now it's officially released! I've been playing this game nonstop ever since I got it and today I will be reviewing it. I also took some game play pictures for you guises, sometimes I forget that you can take photos with the 3DS but I remembered this time!

Game play pictures
Super Smash Bros is a fighting game where characters from other games (like Kirby, Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, etc.) come together in a battle tournament and fight for fun.

There is a whole lot of content! You can fight by yourself, with friends or with people online. There is also story mode (kind of) which you can also play along with friends (I haven't tried played this yet because I'm waiting for my sister to get her copy so we can play together). Also the list of characters in this game is amazing! You can also unlock more characters and stages too.

I don't really have anything bad to say about this game besides the controls but that's just something I need to adjust to. Oh and it's quite challenging if I do say so myself. Even normal mode is quite difficult but that just makes the game more entertaining!

You can purchase Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS here

Have you played Super Smash Bros before?
