Halloween Tag ♥ Blogtober

Halloween Tag
Happy Halloween! Sadly, today is the last day of Blogtober. I hope you enjoyed all the posts this month as much as I loved putting them together for you guys! In honor of Halloween I wanted to post a tag, there were a couple Halloween tags to choose from but I decided to go with this one. Oh, and I found Lucy's hot dog costume! Isn't she the cutest!

What is your favorite Halloween movie?
I don't really have one. I prefer watching Halloween specials. However, Over the Garden Wall is my favorite Halloween show.

What's is your first Halloween memory?
In first grade, we got to dress up for Halloween (I was sleeping beauty) but got sick and got sent home. Not sure if this was my first memory but it's the first thing that came to mind.

Have you always been a Halloween lover?
Yes! Candy and dressing up are literally my two favorite things! But now that I'm older I don't celebrate it so that sucks.

How do you get into the Halloween spirit?
Decorate my planner with cute spooky stationery, eat candy, and buy Halloween related things.

Favorite Halloween decorations?
Well, I really love the candy skull garland that I crocheted.

How do you plan to spend this Halloween?
Staying home watching Halloween shows/movies, bake veggie mummy dogs, and play Animal Crossing New Leaf.

Name one usual thing you are afraid of?
The Cheshire Cat from the animated version of Alice in Wonderland. I don't like creepy smiles and he just has that disturbing druggy smile that I'm afraid of.

Favorite Halloween song?
Panic! At The Disco version of This is Halloween is my all-time favorite Halloween song.

Do you enjoy carving pumpkins?
Definitely! I love anything that I can be crafty and artistic but I didn't carve one this year.

Halloween party or movie marathon?
Movie marathon! I mean if I had friends and wasn't so socially awkward then yes I would love Halloween parties but sadly that's not my scene.

Almost Halloween Planner Spread ♥ Blogtober

Almost Halloween Planner Spread
It's the final week of Halloween which means the last week of Blogtober. Technically there are only 2 days of Blogtober left and this is one of them. I didn't share a planner spread last week because I didn't fill out the weekend part of the spread but it's pretty much looked similar as this week's spread.

If you enjoyed these weekly spreads let me know so I can post them more regularly. I won't post them too repeatedly but maybe 2-3 times a month would be a fair amount? If you're not a planner addict I can understand these posts might be boring or not be your cup of tea. So let me know your feedback anyways.

Almost Halloween Planner Spread
Here is a brief overview of this week's Halloween spread. All the magnetic bookmarks and pug page marker are from Hello Paper Cat. All the sticker (minutes the round Halloween stickers) are from Sprinkled Pug. I wanted to make this spread super Halloweeny and pumpkin/orange-like because in case I don't show you my actual Halloween week spread.(I still might tho!). The candy washi tape is from TinyBees, pumpkin washi is from Michael's, and the orange glitter washi is from Target.

Almost Halloween Planner Spread
Here is a close-up of the left side. This week I decided to do something different with the extra space that I have on the days I work. If you saw my previous spreads then you know that I would leave my work days open and not separated with exercise check-list (because I don't work out on days that I work #toolazy). So I decided to try something new and write in my blog post for that day. I'm still not sure if I look this look though.

Almost Halloween Planner Spread
Here is the other side. Not much to say about this side expect that I did forget to bubble in some of my tasks and workouts. That shows how much I look at my planner during the weekend.

Weekly Edit #17

Weekly Edit
#1 The biggest news this week is the Animal Crossing mobile game, Pocket Camp. You can see the whole direct here to see what's going to be in the app. It comes out late November. I'm honestly not a huge fan of gaming apps because I don't love being attached to my phone for too long. However, I love the concept of the game (you can decorate your own RV!) and I've played every Animal Crossing game so I have to play this one as well!

Pocket Camp is only available to download in Australia at the moment but there are ways which you can change your app store to play the game early. I'm just going to patiently wait until November.

#2 I decided to purchase one of the Pusheen blind boxes because they kept popping out everywhere and I really wanted one. I got the candy corn Pusheen! It was one that I wanted so I was thrilled. They're smaller then I thought they would be but still just as cute! I'm thinking about getting another one!

#3 If you haven't listened to Epik High's newest album I highly advise you to do so, it's spectacular! Whether you like k-pop or not (even though I wouldn't call Epik High K-pop they're more of Rap/R&B/Hip-hop group) there is a lot of English in the songs and even a few songs that are completely English.

#4 I recently found Tiffany's blog. I found her through this post, which is such a cute idea for snail mail. If you love pastel stationery and planner related stuff then I think you will love her blog!

#5 In order to use my bullet journal more I decorated the cover with stickers from Little Miss Paintbrush. Isn't it cute! I have so many stationery and planner related posts that I will be posting next month so I hope you like those posts. haha

#6 Only two more Blogtober posts. I had such a fun time making these posts for you guys, especially the crochet patterns. Which reminds me, only one more month until Blogmas! I'm still not sure what I'm going to do for Blogmas I was thinking of following the same posting style as Blogtober's because December can be really stressful and posting everyday can be bothersome. I also might not post the 12 Days of DIY this year either but don't worry I will still be posting a few DIY projects and crochet patterns. Who is excited for Blogmas?

#7 Stranger Things 2 came out today! I'm so excited but I have to wait until my younger sister gets back from work because we watch the show together. Who else is going to binge-watch this weekend?

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to crochet the rock that Greg carries throughout the show. It's a pretty easy pattern and should take you under an hour to make.

Over The Garden Wall is a cartoon about these two boys who get lost in the woods and are trying to find their way back. It's the perfect Halloween show so if you are wondering what to watch this weekend I highly recommend this show. It's available on Hulu.

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder ♥ Crochet Pattern

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder
Today I have a really cute DIY project that you can make for autumn, a pumpkin patch ring holder! I saw a video on how to upcycle a Birchbox and one of the ideas was to create a ring holder. I was inspired to make a crochet version of this idea and be a little extra and design a pumpkin patch! I really enjoyed making this for you guys. Originally, it was just a box with just some pumpkins and dirt but eventually, I added a fence and a scarecrow and turned it into a mini pumpkin patch. I love the finished result! This is probably one of my favorite projects I ever made. If you make this let me know I would love to see your version.

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder
Supplies
- H/5.00 mm size crochet hook
- I/5.50 mm size crochet hook
- Brown worsted yarn
- Orange worsted yarn
- An empty box
- Polyfill stuffing
- Mini fence pieces
- Mini wood pieces
- Miniature scarecrow (I used this one)
- Darning needle
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors

Aberrations
Ch(s) - chain(es)
St(s) - stitch(es)
Slst - slip stitch
Sc - single crochet
Dec - decrease crochet

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder
'Dirt' Logs (make 4)
- Make a magic circle, sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
- 2 sc in each st. Total = 12 sts
- Sc 12 sts (x25 or until the log reaches 7 inches). Total = 12 sts
Stuff with polyfill
- Dec 1, sc 1 (x6). Total = 6 sts
Cut off, sew ends closed and weave in ends.

Pumpkins
- Make a magic circle, sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
- 2 sc in each st. Total = 12 sts
- Sc 12 sts (x5). Total = 12 sts
Turn inside out and stuff lightly
- Dec 1, sc 1 (x6). Total = 6 sts
Leave a long tail, cut off and sew closed.

Insert the needle through the other end of the pumpkin and pull tight. Create the pumpkin ridges with the yarn by pulling the yarn on the sides and insert the needle at the center bottom of the pumpkin, repeat 5-6 times.

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder
With the hot glue gun adhere the four dirt pieces to the bottom of the box. Next, glue the pumpkins on the top of dirt patches. I placed the pumpkins between two dirt rolls (look at the picture below).

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder
Measure your fence pieces around the box and cut pieces to fit the box perfectly. Glue the fence pieces together to the side of the box.

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder
On a wooden sign write 'pumpkins' and glue to the front center of the box. I drew a pumpkin to make the sign cuter.

Pumpkin Patch Ring Holder
Hot glue the miniature scarecrow to the back center of the fence box. Now you have an adorable pumpkin patch that can store all of your rings!

Lucy's Halloween Costumes ♥ Blogtober

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
Today I have a really cute post highlighting my fluffy Pomeranian puppy, Lucy. Lucy loves dressing up and I, of course, love buying her clothing because she looks adorable in everything! Since it's almost Halloween I put together this lookbook featuring almost all of Lucy's Halloween costumes (I couldn't find her hot dog costume!) because she owns a lot. By the way, pet photography was such an experience, don't worry she got fed plenty of doggy treats!

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
This was Lucy's first costume I bought this Dorothy costume from Michael's for her first Halloween. She was only 9 months old at the time so I got her a small but now it's a bit too snug for her. The wig doesn't like to stay on either. As soon as I place it on her head it falls off her head immediately.

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
Lucy's Halloween Costumes
I made this dress for Lucy for her first Halloween. It's supposed to be the dress that Isabelle wears in Animal Crossing New Leaf. It was a speedy sew so it's not perfect but I think it came out fine.

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
Remember back when the StarWars: The Force Awakens came out and they made everything StarWars related? Well, my older sister who is a StarWars fan bought this R2D2 dress costume that was on sale at Target. I think it was only $5.

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
My sister also bought Lucy this panda costume. She looks like a miniature panda!

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
This Halloween Lucy will be wearing this adorable coffee cup costume! I saw this costume at Petsmart in September and fell in love with it because well, coffee! I'm a crazy coffee addict and have even turned Lucy into one (she loves puppuccinos from Starbucks!). Like all the other hats and wigs as soon as she shakes her body it falls off, oh well.

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
And lastly, we have Lucy wearing a witch hat which was featured in yesterday's post.

Lucy's Halloween Costumes
Lucy was tired after all that modeling. lol

Halloween Your Life ♥ Blogtober

Halloween Your Life
Just a few more days until Halloween! Can you believe it? If you haven't done anything Halloween related then this post is for you. I put together a list of things that you can do to celebrate Halloween and get in the spirit!

Halloween Your Life
Spoopy Theme Clothes + Accessories
Starting off with the most obvious first, I mean who doesn't own a Halloween shirt or jumper? You guys have already seen my HM bat pullover because I've used it as a background in some of my Blogtober posts (I often use clothes as my blog backgrounds). You can also wear some Day of the Dead themed accessories such as skull colored bracelets and handmade pins.

Halloween Your Life
Halloween Stationery
As you guys know I'm a huge sucker for cute stationery but festive stationery makes a just as happy! Whether you are a planner or not you can incorporate Halloween stationery into your daily life.

Halloween Your Life
Spooky Decals
If you have any leftover wallpaper laying around you can create some Halloween decals and stick them all over your room. I have a roll of black marble wallpaper that I like to cut out shapes to decorate my room with.

Halloween Your Life
Halloween Phone Backgrounds
Covering your phone with a cute Halloween background is a subtle way to celebrate the holiday. I found this cute lavender background with pumpkins, ghosts, bats and candy corn! I also put a Halloween background on my computer and Nintendo DS XL.

Halloween Your Life
Dress Up Your Pet
I love seeing pets dressed up in general but on Halloween, it's even better because you see these adorable furry ones in costumes! Lucy doesn't mind dressing up and actually sits down and lets me dress her up (she doesn't even do that for her harness when she wants to go on a walk!). She also has a pumpkin sweater that she can wear for the days leading up to the big event.

Halloween Your Life
Halloween Snack + Goodie Bags
I love candy corn but I feel guilty if I buy a whole bag because I know I won't ever finish it but if I do then well I just ate a whole bag of sugar. Anyways, I found this candy corn trail mix ar Target and I am obsessed with it! It contains honey-roasted peanuts, raisins, white-chocolate pretzel balls and of course candy corn! When I want to be a little extra I pour the candy corn trail mix in some adorable Halloween treat bags that I bought a while ago. I take these to work and place a note on the top saying 'It's going to be ok' which always puts a smile on my face. #selfcare

Weekly Edit #16

Weekly Edit
#1 I took the 16 personalities test over the weekend I took the test a long time ago but don't remember what I was or care much about it at the time so I decided to take it again and got "ADVOCATE" or INFJ-T. "Quiet and mystical, yet very inspiring and timeless idealists." It's one of the rarest personalities and making less than 1% of the population. At first, I was like maybe I answered something wrong because I doubt I'm that special but as I was reading I can definitely relate to most of the traits. Take the test and let me know what personality type you get.

#2 Earlier this week I deleted a bunch of my old posts from 2010-2015. For those who don't know, I've had this blog for years! I started in high school but didn't start actively blogging until after I graduated. It wasn't until summer 2015 that I started feeling happy with my blog posts.

#3 I bought a cute pastel pink planner folio from Target this week the style is similar to a traveler's journal (you can see it on my Instagram). I know I probably didn't need another planner but I plan on using this for something different. Let me know if you would like to see a separate post on my traveler's journal.

#4 Girls Mode 4 released another game trailer. I want this game so bad! I hope it doesn't take a year for this game to come to North America like Style Boutique 2 did. By the way, that new white and lilac DS is gorgeous!

#5 I added a Spotify playlist to the bottom right side of my blog so now you can browse my blog and listen to music. I added songs that I am currently listening to at the moment. I love it when bloggers have a playlist because it tells you a lot about that certain blogger.

#6 Only one week left for Halloween! What are you guys doing for Halloween?

#7 Next week I have a DIY post scheduled that I'm so excited to share! The finishing touch just arrived yesterday and it's perfect! It's probably my favorite DIY I ever made!

Frankenstein Vegan Matcha Scones ♥ Blogtober

Vegan Matcha Scones
Scones are one of my favorite baked goods. I am always buying scones from Starbucks and grocery stores. I've always wanted to share a scone recipe but they are much more complicated then you would think. I've tried many scone recipes but have failed many times. So I followed a recipe from Good Saint because I suck at baking scones. Anyways the point of this post is to show you a cute Halloween baking idea that you can make for a party or movie night in.

I loved themed food which is why I wanted to make some for Halloween. These scones are made from matcha powder (aka green tea powder) so they are the perfect color to resemble Frankenstein. You can barely taste the matcha but you can taste the banana (which is used for this recipe) so if you don't like the taste of banana I recommend just using half the banana.

The icing is a vanilla flavored glaze with melted chocolate used as the stitch toppings. I used this recipe but did switch things up so I will talk about the changes I did down below.

Vegan Matcha Scones
Ingredients
Scones
2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
3 tablespoons matcha powder
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon coconut sugar
6 tablespoons cold vegan butter
1 banana (mashed)
1/4 cup almond milk
2 tablespoon maple syrup
Splash of almond milk (to use as a wash) (optional)

Glaze
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon almond milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup of vegan mini chocolate chips

I took out the ginger because we didn't have any and added an extra tablespoon of matcha powder for a more green look. Since match can be bitter I added one teaspoon of coconut sugar in case the sweetness of banana and maple syrup wasn't enough.

Vegan Matcha Scones
Directions
Prevent the oven to 425 F. Line a baking sheet and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Using a fork (or pastry cutter) cut in the cold vegan butter until crumbs start to form. Pour in the mashed banana and wet ingredients and stir together until sticky dough forms.

Place the dough onto a lightly floured surface and form a ball, roll out to a 1-inch thick. Cut into 8 equal scone wedges with a knife or pizza cutter. Transfer the scones to the baking sheet. If you want your scones to have a 'shiny look' lightly brush on some almond milk over the scones. Bake for 10-15, until golden. Make sure to keep your eyes on the scones after the 10-minute mark because I set my timer to 15 minutes and they came out a little bit crispy. Take out the scones and leave to cool.

Vegan Matcha Scones
Decorations
Whisk the ingredients for glaze together in a small bowl, if you want a thicker glaze to add more powdered sugar but if you want a thinner glaze to use more milk. In a separate bowl, melt the chocolate chips and place in a small piping bag. Make your own by placing a sandwich bag corner in a shot glass twisting and tieing the bag, snip a small hole in the corner of the bag.

Drenched the scone with glaze (dip, brush or use a spoon like I did) let the glaze dry before proceeding with the chocolate chips. Now draw on the stitches with chocolate, one long line, and a few smaller lines. continue until you have reached the desire of stitches you want your scone to have.
