Coffee Chat #31

Coffee Chat
#1 It's officially pumpkin spice season because the Starbucks PSL returned this week! I've already had one earlier this week and plan on getting an iced soy pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin scone (my favorite combination) later this weekend. Did you know that I made a PSL sweater coffee cozy a couple years ago? One of my few outdoor photoshoots.

#2 In September I'm going to start a new blogging schedule. For the past 2 years, my blogging schedule has been the same (new posts on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) but I'm going to start cutting down on the blog posts and only post 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). This will work better with my schedule plus I will have more time to give you guys better quality posts. I still might squeeze in an extra post every now and then.

#3 I found a cruelty-free version of a product that I got a sample of a few months ago (I thought the brand didn't test on animals). It's not a 100% copy but the product is pretty similar and cheaper! Would you guys be interested in a post or series on cruelty-free dupes?

#5 I discovered a new podcast called Two Girls, One Ghost. It's a podcast on paranormal/haunted stories told by two best friends. I've been looking for new podcasts to listen to and stumble across this. I personally love listening to scary stuff because I think it's fun to be scared, plus I think it makes you brave I've been bingeing on episodes at night which probably isn't the best time to be listening to this podcast but like I said it's part of the fun!

#6 Use coupon code 'LABORDAY' to get 15% off your Mooeyandfriends order (no min required). Sale ends 9/3.

#7 Is anybody going to participate in Blogtober? Last year, was my first Blogtober and it was so much fun! I'm really tempted to give it another go but I haven't brainstormed any ideas yet. If any of you have ideas let me know.

My Summer Night Routine ♥ Summer 2018

My Summer Skincare Regime
A couple months ago I was dealing with pretty bad breakouts, so bad that I decided to purchase tons of new skincare and go back to previous products that I knew worked well with my skin. I promised I would post an updated skincare routine and here we are 3 months later. To be honest the reason why this post took so long was that I wanted to wait until I had the perfect skincare set. I knew that If I kept putting this off until I found the perfect skincare products for my skin type that I would never post an updated skincare routine so I just went ahead and put together a list of products that I'm actually using at the moment.

At of all of my routines I've done with the past (K-beauty 8-step skincare routines), this is probably one with the least amount of products. I'm missing certain products as well such as makeup remover, cleansing oil, serums, essence, etc. Like I said, though if I kept putting this off I who knows when I would post a new routine. This post is mainly about my night routine but I also include what I do in the morning because of my AM routine uses pretty much the same products with some exceptions.

My Summer Skincare Regime
Toner: Botanics All Bright Toner
The first thing I do in the morning is splash cold water on my face, this helps me wake up and circulates blood flow. I follow up with toner. I don't wash my face in the morning but the toner helps clean my face without drying it out. I don't normally use this at night unless I've worn a facial mask before. Sometimes I use this to remove my face makeup before following up with cleansing.

Cleanser: COSRX Salicylic Acid Gentle Cleanser
I'm currently testing some cleansing oil which is why I didn't feature any in this post because they come in sample size packaging. In the evening, I use this gentle cleanser to remove my face makeup. Back when I was breaking out almost daily this was the product that helped reduce the number of pimples that I would get. It can be drying though! For that reason, I don't let this foam up too much because the longer I lather this on the more drying it can be so I just lather it on a few times and rinse well.

Cleansing Pads: COSRX One Step Moisture Up Pads
I go back and forth between choosing the COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pads and these pads depending on my mood because both products work well with my skin type. I only use these at night after cleansing my face. They have two sides a smooth side and an embossed side which gently exfoliates your face. These serve as the 'toning' porting of my PM routine.

My Summer Skincare Regime
Sheet Masks: Dewy Tree Aloe It's Pure Hydration Mask + Esfolio Aloe Essence Mask Sheet
I've been using sheet masks every night since 2016. At this point, it's a daily habit that's just as natural as washing my face (check out my daily masking tips here). Even on days when I'm dead tired, I still wait the extra 15-30 minutes for a sheet mask. I'm currently using these aloe sheet masks, they really help calm my skin after a summery day out. If you want to try out daily sheet masks but worry about the price why not make your own sheet masks? Side note: I highly recommend Dewy Tree sheet masks.

My Summer Skincare Regime
Moisturizer: Pacifica Cactus + Kale Oil-Free Renewal Lotion
The daily moisturizer I use morning and at night is this Cactus + Kale Oil-Free Renewal Lotion by Pacifica. It's not the best moisturizer I've used but not the worst either. The cream literally feels like a body lotion, moisturizing but somewhat thick. Don't be fooled by the name though, it doesn't smell like cactus or kale, it has a light floral scent.

Eye Cream: Skinfood Royal Honey Essential Eye Cream
After almost a year of using the same eye cream, I finally decided to switch things up and try a new eye cream. I've only used the Skinfood Rotal Honey Essential Eye Cream it for about to weeks and it's really similar to the Elizavecca white bomb eye cream, I can hardly notice any difference between the two!

My Summer Skincare Regime
I use Buffet both AM and PM after cleansing but before moisturizing. I adore this product! It helps combat early signs or aging. I finished my bottle a few weeks ago and I have noticed a huge difference since I stopped using it which means I need to purchase another bottle. haha

At night I use Salicylic Acid 2% Solution or Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I switch between the two at night because they're practically the same product. The Salicylic Acis claims to reduce the appearance of blemishes and the Niacinamide is supposed to minimize pores. To be honest, I didn't notice a difference with either of these products so I wouldn't repurchase either one.

My Summer Skincare Regime
Sunscreen: Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF50
On days when I go out, I make to apply sun cream before I go out (read about sunscreen here). The Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk isn't greasy, sticky, or leaving any white cast.

Scrub: Tony Moly Strawberry Mushroom Sugar Scrub
I exfoliate twice a week. This Strawberry sugar scrub by Tony Moly smells delicious and isn't as rough as other scrubs.

Sleeping Pack: Skinfood Freshmade Cranberry Face Mask
When I think I need extra hydration I throw on this face mask by Skinfood. I've been using it as a sleeping pack because the consistency feels similar to that of a sleeping mask. It's hydrating, cooling, and comfortable to sleep with. I plan on buying more once I finish this.

BTS ARMY Bomb Fan Stick Plush ♥ Crochet Pattern

BTS Fan Stick Plush Crochet Pattern
Since I finished crocheting all of the BT21 characters I thought about what my next crochet series could be. What I loved about BT21 was because it brought my two passions together, crochet and K-pop. I thought about what else I could make these two together then a lightbulb lit up in my head, light sticks! Yes, that pun was intended. Most K-pop groups have fan/light sticks that they take to concerts to show their support to their favorite idol groups, they light up and some even light up in unison to songs.

My new crochet series will be on fan sticks! Every month I will be posting a new crochet pattern of a new fan stick, preferably when the group makes a comeback. There are tons of K-pop groups and artists out there so I'm pretty sure this series will last a long time! I'm kicking off this series with one of the most popular Korean boy group at the moment, BTS. They just released their latest version of their light stick which are called ARMY bombs because they're fans are called ARMYs and the light sticks resemble the shape of a bomb. I based my design on the latest version. I made a mini version so you can use this as a keychain to show that you are part of the BTS ARMY.

Since I got so many entries in my BT21 giveaway that I decided to post another giveaway. You can enter here! I'll probably make a giveaway every time I post a new fan stick pattern so if you're not the biggest BTS fan don't worry because you'll have other chances to win a fan stick of your favorite group.

Assembly
Time to put this baby together! You can choose to either sew or glue the parts on. Now I normally sew everything but this time I hot glued the crochet pieces together to get the shape of the fan stick correct. Lightly stuff the bottom part with polyfill stuffing and make sure the globe part has enough stuffing to keep its shape. Next, glue the mini red pompom, I used no-sew for this part because I was worried I would get burned with the hot glue gun.

After everything is glued to its time to for the logo. With white felt and sharp scissors cut out the shape of the BTS logo. Use glue and glue the felt pieces down, press lightly to secure.

Coffee Chat #30

Coffee Chat
#1If you're reading this then I guess I survived this week! No, but really I've been really struggling this week. School season has officially started and I basically feel the pressure to go back to school (university or something) because my younger sister is going to beauty school. I'm tired of watching other people live their lives while I'm drowning in my tears. It's difficult when you have depression though. I'm so lost and I don't know what I want to do but I feel like I'm wasting time by not doing anything at all.

#3 How cute is MacBook though? I love it! I bought a pink ombre keyboard cover to keep food and dust from getting between the keys. Whenever I buy anything I always have to customize it and make as cute as possible, anybody the same? I also bought a pastel pink cover and mouse because I'm still having a difficult time scrolling. Fun fact: I've had that mouse pad since I started my shop. lol

#4 I've been watching GOT7's Hard Carry videos. For some reason, I missed this series when they released it so I'm going back and watching the first season before the second season of Hard Carry comes out. Thank goodness for cute boys keeping me going during difficult times.

#5 You have a couple hours to enter my BT21 plush giveaway! I will be contacting the winner this weekend. Thank you to everyone who's entered so far. I may have a special post going up on Monday as a thank you. *wink*

#6 Last night I finally watched To All The Boys I've Loved Before. It was kind of cheesy and unrealistic at times but still very cute! Definitely watch it if you haven't!

#7 Currently listening to BTS latest album. Have you seen their latest music video?

Top 15 K-pop Summer Songs ♥ Summer 2018

Summer K-pop Playlist
Summer is slowly starting to simmer down so I'm going to reflect and share my favorite K-pop songs of summer 2018. A lot of groups and artists made comebacks these past few months most were meh in my opinion but there were a few songs that really stood out to me. In my opinion, the artists that aimed for a summer concept because I feel like they were trying too hard and the songs that tried a different concept and stood out were my favorite. Not saying that all songs with a summer concept sucked just that they were forgettable, a least to me. Anyways, I put together a playlist featuring my top 15 summer songs of 2018. Last year I did something similar where I talked about some of the songs and videos but this year I decided to just publish a playlist. Let me know which style you prefer.

#1 My new laptop finally arrived! It's a MacBook Pro and we bought it used so it isn't a new model or anything but I'm very happy with it so far. This is my first MacBook so if any of you have any tips that would be very helpful.

#2 Go follow my second Instagram account. I'm going to start using that account to show more of my crochet projects and everything shop related. Since I started listening to the B.hooked podcast it's inspired me to take my crochet work more seriously. I don't want to bombard my main IG account with crochet posts so I'm going to use my other account to show my love of crochet, go follow it if you're interested.

#3 I got some of my results from my visit to the doctor last week. They said I have to take iron supplements because I have mild anemia. I still have one more appointment scheduled for next week and need to get results from the tests I took last Friday. Hopefully, those results will explain my heart and stomach pains.

#5 Less than a week to enter my BT21 giveaway! Go enter if you would like to win a BT21 plushie handmade by me!

#7 I have never been someone who wants super white teeth because I think that look looks unnatural. Sometime last week after I finished washing my teeth I noticed the looked stained which is probably due to my obsession with coffee. So I bought a charcoal toothpaste and guess what? It works! I've only used it for less than a week and have already noticed results!

Paper Chain Garland ♥ Crochet Pattern

Paper Chain Garland
It unintentionally became "school week" here on the blog, haha. Earlier this week I shared a back to school haul and now I'm sharing a school themed crochet pattern. I didn't plan it but I'm happy that it turned out that way because I really enjoy themed weeks. Last year, I devoted a whole week to Disney!

Do you guys remember when you were in school and made those chain garlands with different colored construction paper? Well, today I'm going to show you guys how to crochet a paper chain garland. This pattern is perfect if you're new to crochet because you only need to know how to chain, slip stitch, and double crochet. If you want though you can use single crochet instead of a double crochet but add a few more rows to make the chain thicker.

Paper Chain Garland
Supplies
- Bulky yarn
- I/5.50 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle

Aberrations
Ch(s) - chain(es)
St(s) - stitch(es)
Slst - slip stitch
Dc - double crochet
(x2) - repeat __ amount of times

Paper Chain Garland
Chain (make 15 or more)
- Ch 25 sts, slst to first st to form a loop. Total = 25 sts
- Ch 1, dc 25 sts. (x3). Total = 25 sts
- Cut off and weave yarn strands

After you make your first chain loop you are going to continue with the second loop by chaining 25 sts. However, before you slst to the first st you are going to insert your chain around your first piece and then slst. Repeat this step after you finish each chain until you have one garland with 15 chains. Weave in all the loose yarn ends.

Target Stationery ♥ Back To School Haul

Target Stationery Haul
It's back to school season which means the stores are rolling out there stationery! The only thing that I enjoyed about school was all the cute stationery and back to school shopping was the perfect time to pick out a bunch of new stationery for the school year. I carried that stationery obsession with me into my adult life which if your an active reader you obviously know, lol. Today I'm sharing some of my recent purchases from Target. Some of these items are from their Dollar Spot section and others are from their back to school section.

Target Stationery Haul
Let's start with the Target Dollar Spot section first. I bought some rainbow letter stickers because those stickers are always useful. I also bought some adhesive square label pockets, you can use these inside your planner or travelers notebook. Next, are those huge clips which I'm going to use to hold my Hobonichi open when I'm decorating it. Lastly, I bought that teal hole puncher but it's wasn't in the Dollar Spot but it was a $1 so I thought I would include it.

Target Stationery Haul
I also bought two sets of flashcards to use to help me study Korean. One is flashcard flip notebook with mermaids on floaties and the other is a flashcard organizer with cute designs all over. I also bought a mini floral notebook that I'm going to use as my blogging notebook. I have now gone through two notebooks with tons of blogging ideas. I have no excuse to run out of ideas now! haha

Target Stationery Haul
The highlight (pun intended) of my haul is the Zebra Midliners Creative Marking Tools. I saw on Instagram that these were spotted at Target. I know I already have the pastel set but this comes with 15 highlighters so I had to go out and get them because I like having a variety of colors to choose from. Luckily, I found them at the Target next town over and they were the last pack too! #destiny

#1 Over the weekend we finally returned my laptop! I don't think I've mentioned the problems we've had with trying to return the laptop my parents bought me for my birthday. The third party who sold us the laptop wouldn't return any of our calls or emails. I blame Mercury in Retrograde for the communication problems. We finally reached out to the company where my parents bought the laptop from. They returned it on Saturday and now we're waiting for the refund. After that, I will be able to choose the laptop I want and finally have a laptop again.

#2 On Tuesday, I finally went to the Doctor after putting it off for years. I've had really bad stomach pains on and off for years but I've always just endured the pain because I just thought they were stressed related (they still could be). I got blood work done and have to go back on Friday for another test. Knock on wood they don't find anything serious.

#3 In my opinion, the worst part of going to the doctor is when they have to weigh you. I never weigh myself because I know the number will drive me crazy, and it has. Let's just say that I cried later when I got home. I've been working out on and off since I was 13. I've been on tons of diets, stop drinking soda, exercise straight for months, yoga, etc. It doesn't matter how much I've tried to become healthy I can't seem to be happy with my body. :(

#4 I updated my blog playlist so go listen to it if you want some new tunes. It's on the bottom right side of my blog.

#5 A friend recommend Meteor Garden on Netflix so I watched the first episode and was surprised to learn that it was another version of my favorite drama, Boys Over Flowers! They've made a few different adaptations before but I've only seen the Korean and Japanese versions. Meteor Garden is the Chinese version, I've never seen any Chinese dramas but I'm open to watching anything related to Boys Over Flowers. I'm excited to relive the story again and see what changes they make in this version.

#6 I had this idea for my next crochet series, K-pop light sticks/ fan sticks! What do you guys think? What groups fan stick would you like me to crochet?

#7 Earlier this week I binged a bunch of Frannerd's videos. There is something about watching someone who runs their own business that really fascinates and inspires me. She recently moved to New York so she hasn't posted any new videos yet but I can't wait to see her new videos of her in the States.

5 Beauty Travel Hacks/Tips ♥ Summer 2018

5 Beauty Hacks/Travel Tips
I don't travel very often but when I do I go on family road trips. Over the years I picked up a couple of beauty travel hacks that I thought I would share since many are going on summer vacations at the moment. Hopefully, you learn something new and remember when you're packing for your next trip.

5 Beauty Hacks/Travel Tips
Makeup Brush Cleanser
Use your facial cleanser to clean your makeup brushes and sponges. I don't think any of us regularly clean our brushes as much as we should but I think it's especially important to clean your beauty utensils when you're traveling because there could be a lot of germs. Double up your cleanser by using it to clean your face and brushes while traveling.

DIY Cushion
I love using cushions because the application is quick, easy and travel-friendly. If you don't have a cushion why not try making your own? Read more about creating your cushion here and make a DIY kawaii cushion case for your cushion.

Clear Makeup Bag
If you travel by airplane often then I think this is required (I rarely travel by air) but keeping your makeup in a clear bag is really handy because you can see what's inside without unzipping the bag. I got this semi-cleat bag with ice cream illustrations allover from Forever 21.

5 Beauty Hacks/Travel Tips
Multi-purpose Wipes
Makeup Wipes can be used for various purposes but I personally like to use them as body wipes. Sometimes I work at night, that's when these come in handy. I personally like the Black Sugar Skinfood Perfect Oil Cleaning Tissues because they contain oil so they're extra moisturizing and smell amazing!

Facial Sponge
Sometimes when you're traveling water isn't accessible that's when a cleansing sponge comes in handy! Drench the sponge with some water, wet face, cleanse, and repeat. If you have limited access to water or maybe the bathroom isn't the cleanest try using a facial sponge.

5 Beauty Hacks/Travel Tips
Share one of your beauty travel tips down below!

July 2018 Favorites ♥ Beauty + Lifestyle

July 2018 Favorites
Another new month means another new set of monthly favorites. Most of these products have something to do with my trip to Flordia so I reference that a lot in this post. haha

July 2018 Favorites
Cosmetea Chamomile Tea Blemish Control Sheet Mask
Before I went on my trip to Florida I went on a hunt for sheet masks because I had just run out and needed to restock. I found these at Marshalls for around $10 so I bought them because I've heard of the brand before and the packaging is cute. The material is made of 100% natural cellulose mask, it doesn't fall off your face. The essence is very rich which really hydrates my skin. Whenever I use this mask my skin feels so smooth the following morning.

Pacifica Cactus + Kale Oil-Free Renewal Lotion
I forget to bring a moisturizer with me on my trip so while we were at Target I bought this one by Pacifica because it was on sale (I later found out it wasn't on sale, lol). At first, I didn't like it because it felt too thick but it's really moisturizing! This would be better suited for autumn/winter than summer.

Tony Moly Strawberry Mushroom Sugar Scrub
My older sister got me this Tony Moly scrub for my birthday. It smells and tastes amazing! The consistency is really thick and gooey and the beads don't completely dissolve which worried me at first but splash a bit of water and lather and you get a nice exfoliation.

July 2018 Favorites
Milani Hypnotic Lights Holographic Eye Topper - Luminous Light
If you've read any of my makeup routines or what's in my makeup bag posts then you know that I'm a fan of the aegyo-sal style look. I've been using one by Etude House for a few years but I needed something new. I saw this at Ulta and was quickly draw because of the sparkle (Yes, I'm a goldfish). It's a milky glittery liquid. You can use it as an eyeshadow or even highlight but I use it on the lower inner corner of my eyes to create that aegyo-sal effect.

Carol's Daughter Hair Milk Orginal Leave-In Moisturizer
On my trip, I also forgot to bring a leave-in moisturizer with me so I bought this travel-size hair milk. I've seen this brand before but never used any of the products before. It has a pleasant clean scent. This hydrates my curls leaving them soft and not crunchy. I would purchase the full-size.

Hollywood Beauty Jojoba Oil
Someone I follow (I literally forgot who, like I said I'm a goldfish!) mention this on their Instagram story saying how amazing it was for repairing damaged hair. I have really damaged hair so I decided to try it and it's amazing! It's really helped replenish my hair and it' also gotten stronger. The bottle may be small but I still have a lot left, I use it twice a week.

July 2018 Favorites
Hobonichi
My favorite purchase in July was hands down my Hobonichi. I bought it as a birthday gift to myself. It's not an official Hobonich it's an A6 Hobonicho-style that I bought it off of Amazon and the cover is from eBay but they're very similar to a Hobonichi. I do plan on writing a full blog post on it with pictures of the inside so keep checking my blog if you're interested in that. I've been having so much fun filling out the pages. If you need an excuse you use up your stationery collection I highly recommend investing in a Hobonichi because I've definitely been using up my stickers more.
