Coffee Chat #35

Coffee Chat
#1 Finished Hello, My Twenties (the second season). I tried watching season two earlier this year but was turned off by the character changes so I didn't bother watching the rest of the episodes. I was browsing Netflix for a new show but remembered I never finished the show so I decided to give it another shot. It actually wasn't that bad! The new girl was a cute addition but I hated the girl who replaced Eun-Jae. She tried too hard to the point where it was so frustrating. They should've just gotten rid of that character and added another new girl! Anyways, I recommend Hello, My Twenties if you're looking for a new drama to watch.

#2 Made this vegan egg salad recipe and it tasted incredible! It also makes a lovely scrabble egg dupe.

#3 How to Quiet the voice in your head that tells you "you can't"

#4 Finished my first autumn candle of the season. I'll have to take a trip to Bath and Body Works to buy some more. hehe ;)

#5 How to be a happy blogger

#6 I watched Saving Mr. Banks last night. It's on the making of Mary Poppins and how the movie almost never happened if you haven't watched it you should. It's one of my favorite films! For those who don't know I'm very picky when it comes to film because at one point I wanted to be in the film industry. So don't ask me to review a film unless you want my HONEST opinion because I won't go easy.

#7 Tomorrow they're going to add wood flooring to my room. I'm so excited! I'm dreading the fact that I have to remove everything from my room but nonetheless, I'm excited to get the wood floor in my room because that means no more beauty or puppy stains!

GOT7 Fan Stick Plush ♥ Crochet Pattern

GOT7 Fan Stick Plush Crochet Pattern
GOT7 recently made a comeback with Present: You which is why I decided to choose their light/fan stick to crochet this time. I've been following GOT7 since their debut (I have a soft spot for JYP Entertainment boy groups because 2PM was the first boy group I ever discovered) and I'm so proud how far they've come! In Present: You all of the boys have their own song which they help write and/or compose!

GOT7's official light stick is called an IGOT-bong or Ahgabong. Their official color is green and IGOT sounds similar to "baby bird" in Korean which is why their fan stick has a bird on the top.

I kind of cheated this time and used someone else's bird crochet pattern because I just couldn't make a freaking bird! I tried several times and just couldn't get the shape of the bird right so I used a pattern that I found online.

GOT7 Fan Stick Plush Crochet Pattern
- White worsted yarn
- Green worsted yarn
- G/4.25 mm crochet hook
- Green felt
- Polyfil stuffing
- No-sew glue
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Sewing pins (optional)

Ch(s) - chain(es)
St(s) - stitch(es)
Slst - slip stitch
Sc - single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Flo - front loop only
(x2) - repeat __ amount of times

Crochet Level

GOT7 Fan Stick Plush Crochet Pattern
With green yarn
You can find the bird plush pattern here. I used a G hook instead and only make the body.

With green yarn
- Ch 3, sc 2 sts. Total = 2 sts
- 2 sc in each st (x2). Total = 4 sts
Cut off, leave a long tail for sewing

With white yarn
- Magic circle 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
- Flo, sc 8 sts (x2). Total = 8 sts
cc to black yarn
- Sc 8 sts (x9). Total = 8 sts
- 2 sc in each st, sc 1 st (x4). Total = 12 sts
- Sc 12 sts (x3). Total = 12 sts
Cut off and weave yarn strands

GOT7 Fan Stick Plush Crochet Pattern
With sewing pins place the beak on the upper center of the bird's head. Sew the beak all around and weave ends. Lightly stuff the base with stuffing before sewing the bird on top of the stick. With green felt, cut out the GOT7 (i tried making a star for the center of the 'O' but failed because it's so tiny!) letters and glue to the end of the white base. Press lightly to secure. You're finished!

GOT7 Fan Stick Plush Crochet Pattern
Surprise! I have another giveaway for you guys! If you want your own GOT7 fan stick plush made by me go and enter the GOT7 giveaway here. Good luck!

My Craft Book Collection ♥ DIY & Baking Books

My Craft Book Collection
After posting my crochet book collection I thought it would be fun to post my non-crochet craft and baking books. A few years ago I got rid of most of my craft books but decided to keep these five books. Five books probably don’t qualify as an impressive collection but whatever. I honestly don't purchase that many DIY books anymore because most of my DIY projects ideas come from Pinterest or blogs.

I got most of these books before I started crochet or at the same time, I was learning how to crochet my beginner days. I've always been a creative person but before I was interested in crochet I took my creativity through DIY projects some featured in these books.

My Craft Book Collection
Collage Couture: Techniques for Creating Fashionable Art
I've always been a fan of collages. I used to make fashion collages on Polyvore all the time but wanted to make a real version which is why Collage Couture caught my attention. The book contains several ideas on how to make a fashion collage of your own and tiny projects such as frames, paper dolls, etc. It also gives some tips on how to draw human figures and clothing. I never made a fashion collage of my own but I found the pictures inspiring.

Cute Dolls: Let's Make Cute Stuff
Before I was able to crochet I was trying to learn to sew. I picked up this book because I wanted to improve my sewing skills and the illustrations were super cute. The book contains 20 different characters along with the sewing patterns. I tried making the bunny on the cover but failed miserably. Thanks to crochet my hand sewing skills have improved so I'm pretty sure I could make some of these dolls if I wanted to.

The Naughty Secretary Club: The Working Girl's Guide to Handmade Jewelry
For those who didn't know I used to be into jewelry making (I still have tons of jewelry making supplies). The Naughty Secretary Club is known for their quirky cute accessories and in this book, they show you how to make your own quirky jewelry!

Carnival Towel Creations with Freddy
A couple of years ago my family and I went on a Carnival cruise. Every time they cleaned our room they would leave a towel creature on a bed. On the last days, they asked if we wanted a book on the towel animals and I begged my parents for one and that's how this book joined my bookshelf. The Carnival Towel Book contains 40 towel creations. To be honest, I've never made anything but it's a cute souvenir from the cruise.

The Hello Kitty Baking Book
I'm not much of a baker (I burn everything I touch!) so I don't own many baking books but I have a huge sweet tooth and Hello Kitty used to be my favorite character hence why I own The Hello Kitty Baking Book.

Coffee Chat #34

Coffee Chat
#1The foot peel update: They started peeling! The day after I posted last week's Coffee Chat my feet started to peel. Throughout the week parts of my feet kept peeling. Most of the peeling has stopped now and tomorrow is the last day of the two weeks so I think the foot peel is finished. As for the results, I wouldn't say my feet are softer but they're smoother. Overall, I wish they would've worked faster and gave me better results.

#2 Last weekend we got wood floor installed upstairs our house. They still haven't done my room so I have to wait another week or two until I get wood flooring in my room. I can't wait!

#3 My family is leaving me alone a week and I have a couple days off work! I love me some quality alone time so I'm going to use this week alone to do things that I've wanted to new things such try new recipes, watch a few new dramas, and lots of crafting!

#4 Bought some crystals. Now I don't 100% believe in the crystals but I'm open to it. If anybody is into crystals let me know if you have any tips on how to get the best results.

#5 I finally finished Meteor Garden. I felt that they kept stretching the ending. The last 2-3 episodes were basically just replays of the show. The show was pretty cute but I think there were so many unnecessary scenes that made the show longer then it needed to be and tons of oddly placed advertising. Anyways, now that I'm done with this drama I'm ready to dive deep into a new series. Arecommendationsons?

#6 Two DIY projects that are on my list this weekend are a yarn bowl and this Granny square bag. Even though I've crocheted for 10 years I've never made a granny square. lol

#7 Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I don't have an excuse I just haven't felt motivated to publish anything. I've also been brainstorming ideas for Blogtober. If you would love to see anything specific let me know.

*Five more days to enter my BTS ARMY Bomb Fan Stick Plush Giveaway!!!*

#1 On Saturday night I tried my first pair of foot peeling socks. I bought these Tony Moly foot peeling socks. It's supposed to take 2 weeks for the foot peeling to wear off but I haven't seen any peeling yet. From the reviews I read most peeling doesn't begin until the second week, I'm on day seven. I will update you guys next week and let you know if they worked or not. By the way, don't look up reviews on this product if you're squeamish because the most disgusting photos show up!

#2 I'm trying to soften my skin which is why I tried foot peeling sock because I want to have to baby soft skin all over my body. My body skin is different from my face skin because my body is very dry and sensitive. I've been slowing trying to take care of myself by moisturizing with lotions, body brushing, scrubs, etc. If you have body care recommendations please let me know.

#3 PSL Pincushion DIY (No-sew). Such a cute and easy DIY that's perfect for autumn.

#4 My goal this weekend is to finish Meteor Garden. I got my younger sister hooked on the show and she's been flying through it that she's ahead of me! I'm just got to episode 42 and plan on wrapping up the drama this weekend because I want to start something new.

#5 DIY Cotton Candy Earrings

#6 Another show that I've been watching is The Great British Bakeoff. I love me a good baking competition show, America has a few but they aren't anything compared to British baking shows. I've been watching it in the background as I crochet and it's so relaxing!

#7 10 Creative Overnight Oats Flavors! If you make overnight oats here are some unquie flavors you can try.

Hobonichi Setup + Flip Through ♥ September 2018

Hobonichi Setup
Ever since I posted the first photo of my Hobonichi I've received a few messages asking to show you guys and talk about it and that's what I'm doing today!

For those who don't know what a Hobonichi is, it's a Japanese daily journal. I was inspired to buy one because Rainbowholic uses one and always posts videos of her Hobonichi Techo. Since I already have tons of planners and journals I decided to search for a Hobonichi dupe to see how often I use my faux Hobonichi before I commit to an authentic Hobonichi.

Hobonichi Setup
The Hobonichi dupe I use is the Stalogy, it's an A6 size notebook with grid paper enough for 365 days. The adorable glitter rainbow cover and clear cover are both from eBay.  As you can see the clear protective sleeve has a few scribbles which aren't as visible in person but they show up really well on photos. The rainbow band is from a stationery set that I bought from Michael's Craft Store.

Hobonichi Setup
Inside I keep cute inspirational things like die cuts, notes, and bookmarks. On the pen flaps, I keep washi tape scissors and my most used pen at the moment. For the sake of this post I used a cute pen. haha

Hobonichi Setup
Most of my pages in my Hobonichi are personal but I'll share a few that aren't that personal with you guys. I've been buying more A6 size dashboards to use as page markers.

Hobonichi Setup
Here are two more pages in my Hobonichi. One thing that I don't like about the Stalogy is that the dates aren't that visible. The original Hobonichi keeps the dates on the top left corner which I prefer.

Hobonichi Setup
On the back, I keep a few more notes and die cuts. And that's it. If you would like to see more Hobonichi flip throughs let me kno.

Hobonichi Setup
Do you have a Hobonichi?

My Crochet Book Collection ♥ Reviews & Recommendations

Crochet Book Collection
A few days ago, I was rearranging my bookshelf I realized that I have a pretty decent crochet book collection that I've collected throughout the years. I've been crocheting since I was in my early teens and back then there weren't as much crochet patterns online so I had to turn to books for patterns. I don't buy as many crochet books now because a lot of patterns are available for free (like mine) but every now and then a new crochet book comes out that catches my eyes that I just have to get my hands on and they're very inspirational! It's one of my goals to have my own crochet pattern book one day.

If you are new to crochet or want to learn how to crochet I would recommend you buy at least a few books because they really helped me improve my crochet skills. Plus, I learned how to read different types of instructions such as crochet charts and written patterns (everybody writes patterns differently). I also learned how to make my own crochet patterns thanks to these books.

Crochet Book Collection
Here is a quick glance at my crochet book stash. Pretty much all the books are about amigurumi or unconventional projects because that's the type of crochet projects I'm most interested in. If you haven't noticed I'm not really interested in making clothing, it's just not my thing.

Crochet Book Collection
Amigurumi: San-X Crochet Patterns
This is my recent crochet book purchase. It contains tons of patterns from San-X such as Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, Sentimental Circus, etc. I've only had this book for less than a week so I haven't had time to crochet anything from it yet because I've been busy with other projects. I'm most excited to crochet Shappo, Sumikkogurashi, and the Tarepanda plushies! Do note that this book comes in chart form so make sure you know how to read crochet charts.

Hello Kitty Crochet
From the makers who brought you Hello Kitty Baking Book (which I also have) comes Hello Kitty Crochet! The book features tons of patterns from Sanrio such as My Melody, Little Twin Stars, Purin, and more! You can also unlock more Sanrio character patterns online with a special link inside. The book also gives you special techniques like how to color change neatly and secret stitches to help with your amigurumi. As a huge Sanrio fan, I had to buy this crochet book! I haven't successfully finished making anything from this book yet but I have started the Hello Kitty plush and made her head. lol

Crochet Book Collection
Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies
Twinkie Chan was the one who inspired me to start crocheting so of course, I have all of her crochet books! Her first book contains 20 yummy treats you can make and wear. I've made many of the patterns in this book such as the candy button scarf, gingerbread scarf, cupcake hat, and carrot scarf. My only complaint about this book is that it has a couple errors which Twinkie addressed, you can find the corrections here.

Twinkie Chan's Crocheted Abode A La Mode
Twinkie's second pattern book includes 20 yummy crochet projects for your home. The only project that I've attempted in this book is the birthday cake toilet paper cozy but I never finished it. I'm super tempted to make the TV dinner cozy and banana split cushion though. What I like about both of Twinkie Chan's crochet books is that she has a guide to help you with stitches so even if you are a beginner you can learn to crochet with these books be warned that some of the techniques can be difficult for complete newbies.

Crochet Book Collection
Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts Amigurumi
Kyuuto Amigurumi was one of my first crochet books. I've made those bears on the covers and the piggies in this book. The patterns in this book are written really strange because they only provide the number of stitches you should have and when to increase and decrease without much-written instructions. Back when I got this book I was a beginner so I'm not sure how I was able to read this book, lol. I definitely wouldn't recommend a new crocheter to buy this book.

Ami Ami Dogs
Ami Ami Dogs is another Japanese style crochet pattern books so there are charts but this book also provides photos of the pieces as you go which is very helpful. I remember making a dog from this book but I don't remember what happened to it... They also have Ami Ami Dogs 2 and Ami Ami Kittens!

Crochet Book Collection
Stitch London
I actually won this book a couple years (fun fact: I've always had a slight fascination with the British). Stitch London is a knitting and crochet pattern book that contains 20 London inspired projects. I've only made the book cozy and bee mug hugger from this book. The book also shows you how to knit but not to crochet.

Crochet with One Sheepish Girl
One Sheepish Girl used to be one of my favorite crochet blogs, she doesn't blog anymore. Crochet with One Sheepish Girl contains a lot of patterns for your home such as baskets, bags, coasters, etc. Included in the book is 24 crochet patterns and an easy to follow visual stitch guide. I've crocheted the teacup coasters and the crochet latte, which Lucy uses as a toy (you can see them here). The pictures in this book are stunning! I would recommend this book to those who want to learn how to crochet because of the recourses and the versatility of the projects.

Crochet Book Collection
My Crochet Doll
I bought My Crochet Doll because I wanted some inspiration and tips on how I can improve with my crochet dolls. The book features 50 cute crochet dolls, clothes, and accessories. The patterns are written so it easy to read. The author shares a lot of her doll techniques and advice which I found very helpful. The pictures are also really adorable!

Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful
Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful was one of my first crochet books. Back when I first started crocheting I was only interested in amigurumi and this book caught my eye's because of the cover (I was 13-14 when I started crocheting). Like Ami Ami Dogs, this book comes in both written and chart form (For those wondering, I prefer written patterns). I've crocheted the elephants, water bottle cozy, and flower bag. This book brings back so many memories!

Coffee Chat #32

Coffee Chat
#1 One of my favorite cartoons, Adventure Time, ended this week. I first got into the series to cope with my depression whilst on a family trip. I somehow always manage to start a new show every time I come back from a vacation (this year I watched Summer Camp Island) and that's how I discovered Adventure Time. I'm sad to see the show end but I know I can always go back and rewatch the series (and I will) but it's sad knowing there won't be any more episodes. Btw, you can crochet your own LSP plushie here.

#2 This week I bought my first autumn candle of the season and indulged on a few iced pumpkin spice lattes. It's still pretty hot where I live but I can't wait for the weather to start to cool down so I can wear all of my cozy knits and booties!
#4 I'm really proud of myself this week for getting up in the morning and working out (it's one of my fitness goals). It really is the best time to exercise because you just get it done first thing in the morning and don't have to feel guilty or nervous about trying to fit into your schedule later on the day.

#5 Here is a small playlist of songs I really been loving lately.

#7 If you want some relaxing tunes to listen to on the background whilst blogging I highly recommend the Donut County soundtrack. I haven't played the game yet but it's definitely on my list!

August 2018 Favorites ♥ Beauty + Lifestyle

August 2018 Favorites
It's a fresh month which means it's time for another roundup of monthly favorites! These are the lifestyle and beauty products that I've been loving for the past month.

August 2018 Favorites
NYX Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter - Moon Glow
I bought this because it was on sale and I love luminizing products. I've been using this in the inner corner of my eyes and to create an aegyo-sal look. This doesn't contain any glitter and more glowy which is great if you're going for that natural. I haven't used this as a face highlighter yet I'm pretty sure it would look lovely.

Pony Effect Contoured Brow Color - #Natural Brown
As much as I love testing new products I'm a creature of habit and tend to use the same products over and over until I get sick of them. I've been using the Etude House Drawing Eye Brow for years and highly recommend it but I wanted to try a new product. I went with this tinted brow gel by Pony Effect, I love the brush because it gives you lots of control when applying and it makes your brows look natural. The only thing that's bothersome about this product is that when you're sweaty your eyebrows sweat, which is odd for me because I'm so used to pencils.

Skinfood Royal Honey Essential. Eye Cream
I mentioned this product in my night routine so I won't explain too much. This eye cream is hydrating, moisturizing, contains a lot of product and affordable. Very similar to the Elizavecca Gold CF-Nest White Bomb Eye Cream.

Bliss ex-glow-sion Super Rich Moisturizer
A couple months ago I was given a sample of an illuminating moisturizer that I fell in love with! However, the brand isn't cruelty-free so I've been looking for a dupe from a cruelty-free brand. Thankfully, I found this product at Target, it isn't an exact dupe but it's pretty close! I only use this moisturizer in the morning because that's when I want dewy radiant skin.

August 2018 Favorites
Hello Fluoride-Free Whitening Toothpaste Activated Charcoal
A few weeks ago while brushing my teeth, I smiled and noticed that my teeth looked stained (thank you coffee). I have never been the type to want super white teeth because I think that looks unnatural but I did want my teeth a couple shades whiter. I decided to try this charcoal toothpaste. After a few days, my teeth had become whiter! Make sure you use a matching charcoal toothbrush because of this toothpaste stains.

August 2018 Favorites
MacBook Pro
One of the highlights of August was receiving my MacBook Pro. This is my first MacBook and so far I'm really loving it! I'm still not used to the keyboard and I did have to purchase a mouse because scrolling is difficult but with more practice I know I'll get better. Probably the best part of having a MacBook is all the accessories you can get such a keyboard cover and a pastel pink shell case. The stickers are by Vickisigh.

August 2018 Favorites
Belvita Bites - Chocolate + Blueberry
I've been obsessed with these Belvita bites for months I'm surprised I haven't mentioned them on my blog. I just found chocolate and cinnamon flavors and surprisingly I'm a fan of the chocolate even though I'm not the biggest chocoholic. haha

Zebra Midliner Creative Markin Tool
Finding the Zebra Midliners at Target was another highlight in August. I love all the new colors! By the way, I just found out they're double-ended.
