Which Dry Shampoo is Best For You? ♥ Spray, Foam, or Powder

One thing that you should know about me is that I only wash my hair twice a week. Which means I use dry shampoo a lot! I've used several different types of dry shampoo in my life which is why I put together this guide to see which dry shampoo is best for you.

Why use dry shampoo? Washing your hair every single day isn't healthy for your hair because you need those natural oils to nourish your scalp. Shampooing your hair every day can cause breakage, unwanted frizz, and strip your hair from natural oils causing unwanted dryness and brittleness.

Spray Dry Shampoo
- Best for when your on-the-go
- Most brands carry them
- Best for everyday
- Affordable

- Results don't last long
- Runs out quickly
- Most don't work that well

The most popular type of dry shampoos come in aerosol spray cans. I have personally used this type of dry shampoo the most. Despite many brands having their own version of this dry shampoo most of them don't work well. But, it gets the job done and best suited for everyday use and when you need a quick refresh. My favorite is Not Your Mother's Plump For Joy Body Building Dry Shampoo!

Foam Dry Shampoo
- Best for post-workout
- Freshens
- Volumizing

- Takes a while to set
- Not ideal when you're on-the-go

As someone who works out often, one of the many dilemmas I face is when I should wash my hair. Thankfully, I discovered foam dry shampoo and it's changed my life! When you first apply foam dry shampoo it looks like you've straight up put mousse in your hair but after the foam settles your hair looks clean and volumized! It really looks as if you "washed" your hair. Since it takes a while for your hair to fully dry this wouldn't be ideal when you're running late.

Powder Dry Shampoo
- Absorbs oil
- Volumizing
- Bottle lasts forever
- Travel-friendly

- Messy application
- Builds up if you use too much
-Takes a while for the powder to absorb
- Can leave a white cast if you don't blend properly

Out of all the dry shampoos that I've mentioned in this post, the one I use the least is powder dry shampoo because I'm not patient and you need to be patient when using powder dry shampoo. Don't apply too much because it can leave a white cast on your hair (at least if you have dark hair) especially if you don't probably massage in the powder. The powder also takes a while to absorb the hair oil which is why you need to be patient. Most powder dry shampoo comes in compact packaging so it's perfect for traveling, unlike the two other dry shampoos. My recommendation is the LUSH No Drought shampoo because it smells amazing! I recommend buying the smaller bottle because you'll never finish the bigger size, you might never use the smaller bottle either! haha

Which is your favorite dry shampoo?

July 2019 Monthly Favorites ♥ Beauty + Lifestyle

July 2019 Monthly Favorites
This year I haven't posted that many monthly favorites. I think I only posted one other monthly favorites this year, so far. This could because of many reasons but I think the biggest reason is that I haven't discovered products that have left an impression on me. Anyways, in the last 4 months, these are the beauty and lifestyle products that I've been loving and reaching for the most in the past few months.

July 2019 Monthly Favorites
Dove Foam Dry Shampoo
Ever since Dove went cruelty-free I've been using more products from them. Their foam dry shampoo caught my attention because I wondered how foam dry shampoo would work. It feels like your putting moose on at first but instead of getting that shiny crunchy finish your hair looks clean and fresh afterward. I like using this on days when I don't feel like washing my hair after an intense workout session.

PONY EFFECT Sharping Brow Definer Eyebrow Pencil - Ash Brown
After trying the PONY EFFECT brow mascara I decided to try out the brow pencil. It's very light which is great if you want to subtly build up color. I don't like that it's very thin, I feel like I'm going to break it every time I use it!

OGX Smoothing + Coconut Coffee Body Scrub + Wash
This body scrub wash duo caught my eyes because it said coffee and I'm a huge coffee lover and love anything that has to do with coffee. The scrub particles dissolve within a few seconds lathering into a creamy body wash. After a few showers, I've noticed that my rough dry skin has started to feel softer! My younger sister is also a huge fan of this product and she is a hard person to please! haha

July 2019 Monthly Favorites
Kikumasamune Sake High Moisture Skin Lotion Toner
I've been searching for a moisturizing toner for a while. I've used tons of Korean toners in the past so I decided to start using some Japanese skincare. I found this toner by Kikumasamune on Amazon, it was recommended to me. Every morning I pump some into cotton round and dab it onto my skin to wake up my skin. The bottle is huge so I think it'll last me a while. The only thing that bothers me is the pump, you have to be extra careful because the toner will go everywhere if you don't.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream
Every once in awhile Klairs has some exclusive deals on their Amazon page. During one of these times, I was able to score their Rich Moist Soothing Cream for a reasonable price. This cream is so rich and moisturizing! If you have dry skin or currently live in a climate that's very cold I highly recommend this cream because it will keep your skin moisturized all day! Since it's still summer, I'm currently using this as a night cream but I will definitely be repurchasing this product in winter.

FaceTory SunBae Aloe Vera Soothing Sheet Mask
Most of you know that I daily sheet mask. I often go through these ruts where I get bored of using the same sheet masks over and over again which is why I went through a deep sheet mask dive on Amazon and discovered FaceTory. I've been testing out a few masks from them and so far the SunBae aloe vera mask is my favorite! After a tiring day out in the summer sun, I love ending my night with this aloe vera mask that smoothes my skin.

Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask
Another mask that I've been loving lately are these rice masks. 10 sheet masks come in one packet so it's perfect for travel-friendly. I've used a few other masks that come in packs like this before but they always dried out quickly. However, all of the masks I used were fully soaked with essence til the end! I'm already bought a second pack!

July 2019 Monthly Favorites
Bright Bat Design Self-Care Plushie Pals
Another huge favorite of mine has been Bright Bat Design, specifically the self-care plushie pals collection. I ordered some stickers and notepad when the collection dropped online. In July, they released a few mystery bags so I jumped on the opportunity and ordered one right away because it was an amazing deal! I loved everything I received but especially this sticker. I have no idea where I'm going to place it yet but I want to put it somewhere that I see often because it makes me so happy!

July 2019 Monthly Favorites
Tea Time Usagi Planner Dashboard
This Usagi planner dashboard from HelloPaperCat has been one of my favorite stationery items. The design is super cute and the colors compliment each other really well. I keep mine stored in my Hobonichi. I have the matching die-cut and stickers!

Faux Pearl Heart Drop Earrings
This year, I've been trying to step up my earring game. I saw these adorable faux pearl heart drop earrings on YesStyle and just thought they would make the perfect pair of my earrings to wear with any outfit. I've worn these so much in the past month so they had to be included in this blog post.

Forever 21 Bow Hair Tie
During my birthday trip to Flordia, I bought this adorable bow hair tie from Forever 21 to hold up curly locks. It's super cute and makes me feel extremely girly! I actually ordered a black hair bow that looks similar to this from another website but the quality was really crappy so I'm going to go back to Forever 21 to buy another one.

HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer
For my birthday, I bought myself the HP Sprocket portable photo printer. I've wanted one for a while because I wanted to incorporate photos from my everyday life into my Hobonichi. The photo quality isn't the best but I love that I can finally include photos into my Hobonichi without using up all of our printer's ink. Let me know if you would like to see a review on this.

BT21 COOKY Keychain Pouch
My friends Seriya bought me this cute BT21 Cooky pouch for me. Isn't it the cutest? She knows how much I love BTS and BT21. It's the perfect size to store my HP Sprocket photo printer and some spare photo paper. The bag also has a strap on the back so you can attach to a backpack or wherever.

My First Youtube Video
Just wanted to announce to you all that I've opened a YouTube channel! This has been something that I've wanted to do for such a long time so I'm very excited to officially start posting videos. I plan on posting stationery hauls, Hobonichi/plan with me videos, flip throughs, how-to and crochet tutorials. So if that is something that interest you make sure to subscribe to be notified. I'm very excited to start posting on a new platform.

For my first video, I'm showing you how I decorated my Hobonichi spread of the day I went and saw Monsta X. I'm really happy with how everything came out. Editing was surprising fun but uploading took half a day to complete! As of right now, I don't plan on talking (because I hate my voice) but you'll have background music to entertain you. I'm not sure how often I will be posting but I would like to post once every 1-2 weeks.

Please let me know your thoughts on my first video and if there is something you would like to see in the future.

Don't forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe to my channel!

ColorBlock Passport Cover ♥ Crochet Pattern

ColorBlock Passport Cover Crochet Pattern
It's been a while since I last posted a crochet pattern on my blog. Today I'm going to teach you all how to crochet a passport cover. This is a very simple crochet pattern, ideal for beginners. This has been an idea that I've wanted to make for a while. Because I don't like simple things too much I made it a color block design. You can use whatever colors you like but I used pink, purple, and blue, some of my favorite colors. I also cut out various shapes out of felt to decorate the booklet but feel free to skip this part if you want a simple cover.

ColorBlock Passport Cover Crochet Pattern
- G/4.25 mm crochet hook
- Pink worsted weight yarn
- Purple worsted weight yarn
- Blue worsted weight yarn
- Slanted tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Various felt sheets
- Fabric glue

ch(s) - chains
st(s) - stitch(es)
slst - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
flo - front loop only
blo - back loop only
cc - color change
(x_) - repeat (_) amount of times
[x_] - repeat everything inside the [_] times amount of times

Crochet Level

If you have any problems with this pattern feel free to contact me so that I can make corrections to the pattern.

ColorBlock Passport Cover Crochet Pattern
With G hook and teal yarn
Row 1: Ch 23, sc 22 sts. Total = 22 sts
Rows 2-18: Ch 1, sc 22 sts. Total = 22
Row 19: Ch 1, flo, sc 22 sts. Total = 22
cc to purple yarn
Rows 20-36: Ch 1, sc 22 sts. Total = 22
Row 37: Ch1, flo sc 22 sts. Total = 22
cc to pink yarn
Row 38: Ch 1, blo sc 22 sts. Total = 22
Rows 39- 42: Ch 1, blo sc 22 sts. Total = 22
Cut off, leave long chain for sewing

With G hook and pink yarn. You are going to be creating the color pocket or sleeve. Insert your hook behind where you started off with the teal yarn and insert your hook until you have 22 sts. This is kind of tricky because of how the sts look but you should be able to do it.
Rows 1-4: Ch 1, blo sc 22 sts. Total = 22
Cut off, leave long chain for sewing

ColorBlock Passport Cover Crochet Pattern
Here is a side view of the passport. As you can see the pockets started on the inner part of the cover.

ColorBlock Passport Cover Crochet Pattern
It's time to decorating! With felt and scissors cut out various shapes and glue to the cover. To make it interchangeable, glue the pieces of felt to the bottom of each side so that you can flip between designs.

MONSTA X We Are Here World Tour ♥ My First K-POP Concert Experience

MONSTA X We Are Here World Tour in Atlanta

On July 30, I went to my first K-pop concert, the MONSTA X We Are Here concert held in Atlanta! Despite me being a huge fan of K-pop since 2010 this was my first ever K-pop concert, can you believe it? Monsta X has quickly become one of my favorite boy groups so when I heard they were coming to Atlanta I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see them live.

I ordered my tickets the day they were released because I was scared they would sell out because not a lot of K-pop artists come to Atlanta but when they do they usually sell out. I bought two tickets, one for me and my sister, who is a fan of K-pop but doesn't listen to the newer stuff so I slowly had to get her into MONSTA X so that I wasn't alone. lol

MONSTA X We Are Here World Tour in Atlanta
The concert started at 8 but my sister had school so we didn't leave home until 6. Thankfully, we only live 30 minutes away from Atlanta and traffic wasn't too bad since it was a Tuesday. We arrived 30 minutes before the concert started which was enough time to use the bathroom and shop for merch. My merch goal was to get a t-shirt, a picket fan, and stickers. Lightsticks were already sold out when we got there but the t-shirts and picket fans sold out as soon as I got in line! I tried preordering merch the day before but the website kept acting weird so I wasn't able to order anything online. I ended up just getting a slogan and stickers (for journaling) because I didn't want to leave empty-handed. Some guy around the merch table was handing some MONSTA X cards and I got one. Check out his Tumblr here.

The concert was held at the Fox Theater which I've been to before when I watched Chicago and CATS, both musicals, but this was the first concert I ever saw here. All the staff at the venue was extremely nice and helpful. I often hear "horror stories' of K-pop concertgoers about the people at the venues mistreating them or not being organized but all the staff that we interacted was so lovely and helpful. There was a lady in the restroom who kept letting us know when they had empty stalls open and another lady helped us find our seats. Since I'm not flowing in money I bought the cheapest tickets I could get which were on the top floor but they were pretty good seats. There was a row of 5-6 empty seat in front of us which was great because we could see the stage better. They also had screens so we could see the members gorgeous faces.

MONSTA X We Are Here World Tour in Atlanta
MONSTA X performed various songs from their recent albums along with some of their biggest hits. The members also put together special stage units, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Minhyuk, Jooheon and IM, and Shownu and Wonho. These songs were amazing and I really hope that all these songs are featured in their next album!  The boys put on an incredible show! The members spoke English when they spoke to us but they did have an interpreter available who translated when they spoke Korean. If you follow MONSTA X than you know that Wonho (my bias) wasn't feeling too well around this time and you could tell that he looked tired and had to take breaks in between songs. During their performance of Alligator, Wonho fell down (i think to catch his breath) and was carried out by the members as soon as they finished the stage which broke my heart. Thankfully, this was one of their last performances. They did perform Rodeo after but they didn't dance just goofed around and waved to fans.

At their ending speech, most of the members spoke in English and said their thank yous to their Monbebes. IM message about K-pop just being a "fad" was really powerful! Jooheon's message especially made me cry. Wonho spoke in English during his speech and told us that he wasn't feeling too well and that he didn't want to worry Monbebes so he tried his best, and he did! You can view their ending statements here.

Because I'm extra, I put together a playlist which I've been listening to non-stop since the concert for you guys. Hopefully, I can turn some of you into MONSTA X fans (they're called Monbebes!) so that we can swoon about them together!

Overall, I had an amazing time! I was really emotional at the beginning of the show because I couldn't believe they were real! I'm so used to watching MONSTA X behind screens but for them to be right there justs a few feet away from me! I couldn't! I still get giddy thinking about the show. It was one of the best days of my life and I can't wait to see my boys in the future! Despite Wonho being unwell he still was a trooper and put on an amazing show! At one point of the concert, he was looking up on the top floor, directly at my section for very long. Then, during his speech, he said that he likes to look at Monbebe in the eyes. *squeal* I'm pretty sure he didn't make eye contact with me but I like to think because of the empty row in front of us that he had a better look at me. This is just me overanalyzing this interaction but whatever. haha

Check out my Instagram and IGTV to see the videos that I took during the concert. I apologize for my screaming and the out of focus shaking footage. I tried my best to get some pictures but everything came out blurry.
