What's In My Makeup Bag ♥ Summer 2018

What's In My Makeup Bag
Summer beauty posts are some of my favorite types of post because summer tends to be the time where most people like to get lazy dewy makeup look with messy tousled waves and that's my signature look. Hopefully, I have enough time to publish all the beauty posts I want to post this year before summer ends.

Today, I'm sharing my yearly 'what's in my makeup bag/pouch post'. I like to make one of these every year to see what beauty products I was using back when I went on ___ trip. This time around I'm showing you guys what I brought with me on my trip to Florida I went on a few weeks ago. You can always tell what products are old/my favorite by looking at these posts, haha.

What's In My Makeup Bag
Let's start with base makeup. The primer I brought with me is the Etude House Face Blur Primer (cherry blossom edition), this has a slight pink tint that helps brighten dull skin. The BB cream I took was the Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream. For quick application, I brought the Peripera Ink Lasting Mint Cushion. I rarely contour but I brought my Etude House Play 101 Stick with me in case I felt like being extra, I only used it once lol. The two concealers I brought with me were the Etude House Big Cover Concealer (my favorite) and the ELF HD Lifting Concealer, coverage-wise it's alright but not ideal for dark circles or hard to cover spots. Last but not least I have a mini Tarte blush that I received in my Sephora Beauty Insider birthday gift last year.

What's In My Makeup Bag
For my eyes, I brought with me an Etude House Play 101 Pencil in #8, Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in Grey Brown, and an NYC Kohl Brow/Eyeliner Pencil in Taupe. I use the TouchBeauty Heated Eyelash Curler because normal lash curlers rip off my lashes so I just use a heated lash curler. I coat my lashes with the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara. I highly recommend Essence Mascaras because they're amazing, affordable and cruelty-free. The eyeliner I brought with me is the Tony Moly Backstage eyeliner, my favorite gel eyeliner. I use the Milani Hypnotic Lights Holographic Eye Topper in 02 Luminous Light to get that ageyo-sal look. Lastly, I brought with me the Etude House Grow Serum which I've been using to grow my eyebrows. By the way, I'm not sponsored by Etude House but should be because I'm a huge fan of Etude House products.

What's In My Makeup Bag
Surprisingly, I didn't bring that many lip products, just three and two lip balms one which is tinted, sorry I didn't include either. The three lippies are the Benefit Posie Balm, Peripera Airy Ink Velvet in Pretty Orange Pink, and a Tarte lip tint sample, I used the Peripera and Tarte the most. I also brought my trusty Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Palette because it's the perfect travel-size eyeshadow palette.

Coffee Chat #26

Coffee Chat
#1 I'm so glad that I'm blogging again! Those two weeks without publishing any content drew me crazy! I'm going to try to comment on blogs this weekend and try to get my blogging groove going again.

#2 My new favorite show is Summer Camp Island. It's the cutest purest show ever! I discovered it while I was on vacation. It gives me Adventure Time and Over The Garden Wall vibes. I really hope they make more episodes because it's the cutest show I've seen in a while. You can watch all 20 episodes on the Cartoon Network app.

#3 I recently started watching Terrence House. I heard a few people talking about on Twitter so I decided to check it out and boy am I hooked! It's a reality show based in Japan were 6 strangers live together and basically try to find love. I'm not the type to watch these type of shows but since it's based in a different country it's so fascinating to me. Does anybody else watch Terrence House?

#4 I received my first pen pal letter from Ashley this week. One of my summer goals was to start sending letters and I'm glad I'm following through with this goal already. If anybody else wants to be pen pals let me know!

#5 I bought a Hobonichi dupe on Amazon. It's an A6 Stalogy notebook. It's similar to a Hobonich in many ways. I bought it because I've been wanting a Hobonichi for a long time but didn't want to commit and buy an authentic Hobonichi so I found this alternative only for 1/3 of the price plus I don't have to wait as long for it to arrive at me. It's also a test to see how often I can keep up with a Hobonichi. Let me know if you would like to see a post on it.

#6 My friend Seriya of Hello Paper Cat recently started blogging again so you should totally go and support her blog, Milk Tea Kitten. She only has a few posts up at moment but she plans on posting more so definitely go and support her!

#7 Pet owners, do you think you and your pet act like each other? Because I'm starting to think that Lucy and I act the same. Has social anxiety, likes her alone time, likes attention from time to time, snaps when stressed, that's me in a nutshell! haha

BT21 RJ Plush ♥ Crochet Pattern

BT21 RJ Plush Crochet Pattern
When I crocheted my first BT21 plush never did I imagine that I would make all of the characters because I thought some of the characters would be too difficult. Now I'm finishing off the series with the final character, RJ.

"Kind and polite, the cutest while mumbling. Wears a parka because it gets cold easily."

Created by Jin. I wasn't too excited about making RJ because of his lumpy head and body. The head wasn't that difficult but his body... Let's just say it took a couple of tries before I could get the correct shape. Since RJ is a bit taller than the rest of the BT21 squad but that's how the cartoons look so I'm very happy with how he came out.

I hope you enjoy RJ and his friends. When I first started this series not that many knew of BT21 but now I think they're much more well known. I really enjoyed making this series because it meshed together two of my favorite things crochet and K-pop! Even if you don't crochet I hope you enjoyed looking at the plushies. BT21 RJ Plush Crochet Pattern
Time to sew everything together! I recently bought a slanted tapestry needle which helped me with sewing so I highly recommend you investing in one because it makes sewing crochet pieces a lot easier!

Sew RJ's body together by sewing his legs, arms, and tail to his body. Pin with sewing needles so that the body parts don't move as you sew. Sew the two pieces of RJ's face together to form his head and stuff. Finish by sewing RJ's ears to his head.

Look at a picture of RJ for reference. Cut out the face with black felt and light pink felt. With red felt cut out RJ's scarf. I wrapped the piece of red felt around RJ's body first and then cut of the shape of the scarf. Glue the piece and press lightly.

Complete! I hope you enjoy this crochet series because I know I had tons of fun making all the BT21 characters!

Stationery Heaven Co + Whimsical Cat Studio ♥ Etsy Haul

Etsy Haul
It's been quiet around here, hasn't it? Well, if you don't follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you may not know that during my trip on Florida my laptop decided to break down, as did I. I tried to fix but sadly couldn't revive it. Thankfully my parents offered to buy me a new one as my birthday gift this year (talk about perfect timing). However, when my laptop came in the mail it wasn't what I wanted so we're currently in the process of returning it. It may take another week or two until I will be able to get a new laptop so instead of missing another week of blogging I'm going to attempt to blog on my sister's laptop.

My sister's laptop isn't the fastest but it gets the job done. Another problem I found using this laptop is that it doesn't come with a default photo editing program (Fun fact: that's how I edited my blog photos before) which makes editing blog photos difficult but thankfully I found another way to edit my photos. I'm still getting used to this new photo editing software so let me know what you think of the photos.

This post was supposed to go up the following Monday when I returned from my trip but due to technical difficulties, I was forced to postpone it. But late than never, right? Today I have a stationery haul from two Etsy shops that I really admire, Stationery Heaven Co, and Whimsical Cat Studio. I've bought from Stationery Heaven before but this was my first order from Whimsical Cat Studio. Let's take a look at what I ordered!

Etsy Haul
Let's start with Stationery Heaven Co first. Like I said I've ordered from them before so I knew what to expect in terms of shipping and processing time, it took almost a month! The packaging is super adorable though and makes up for the shipping time, well in my opinion it does. hehe

I order a bunch of die cuts and three sticker sheets but I received a lot of extras. Included with my order were two free die cuts, two sticker samplers, and a sampler from a shop called Paperkumaco.

Etsy haul
The die cuts are made with sturdy matte cardstock paper so you can keep in your notebooks or whatnot. I actually didn't realize that one of the freebies was the same unicorn die cut until after my order was shipped if I knew I would've known before so I could've gotten another one instead because I don't need two of the same design but at least they're different sizes.

Etsy Haul
Next shop is Whimsical Cat Studio. Their stickers are a bit more expensive so I waited to purchase from this shop until they listed there Oopsie bags because they're only $10 for 10 stickers, talk about a deal!

Etsy Haul
My order also came in a cute booklet like my other order. I will probably save these and use as a cover for a sticker book or something. I also received lots of freebies with this order.

Etsy Haul
The oopsie sticker bags came with 10 random sticker sheets with your choice of hair color. I choose the black hair girl because I have black hair. I was really happy with all the sheets I received. My personal favorites are the yoga, workout, mask and coffee stickers!

Coffee Chat #25

Coffee Chat
#1 So I know I just started my new fitness journey but I've already been seeing results and it's only week 1! Well, technically it's week 2 because I did a trial run last week but I've already seen more definition in my body and my lower stomach has flattened a little.

#2 Apink's new song is stuck in my head! It's so good! The styling is on point as well! I think this is their best single so far! It gives me old school Kara vibes.

#3 Speaking of Kara. You know I feel bad for new K-pop fans who will never experience old girl groups like Kara, Girls' Generation, Sister, and 2NE1. I mean they can still go back and listen to their songs but it's not the same.

#4 My new go-to summer smoothie combination
- one banana, chopped
- a few frozen pineapple
- a few frozen mango chunks
- a few strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 of almond milk
- a sprinkled of unsweetened coconut flakes
Blend until combined and serve.

#5 I know I say this a lot but I just want to say thank you to those who comment and continue to comment on my blog. It really means the world to me! You guys keep me going on the dark days when I think about quoting blogging. THANK YOU!

#6 This weekend my family and I are going on a trip to Miami this weekend. Last time they went on a weekend trip I didn't go because I stayed home to take care of Lucy, this time they booked a pet-friendly hotel so we're taking her with us, I will make sure to take pictures of her!

#7 I'm writing this at 4 am because it took me so long to pack! We leave in a few hours and I'm exhausted, guess I will have to sleep in the car. Follow me on Instagram and Twitter if you want to see updates on my trip. Have a lovely weekend!

June 2018 Favorites ♥ Beauty + Lifestyle

June 2018 Favorites
It's that time again where I share my favorite lifestyle and beauty items from the previous month, aka monthly favorites. In June, I started reading for fun again, discovered new skincare products and some new accessories for my phone.

June 2018 Favorites
Innisfree My Real Squeeze Sheet Masks
I was searching on Amazon for some new sheet masks that I haven't tried yet and found these by Innisfree. I've tried some sheet masks from Innisfree before but with different packaging. My skin felt so soft after 15-20 minutes! The set came with 18 masks for $19 which is a steal!

The Ordinary Buffet
A couple months ago I ordered my first products by The Ordinary. I ordered three products but the one that gave me the most noticeable results was Buffet. It's an anti-aging serum that helps combats premature signs of aging. After a few days of using this serum, I noticed that my skin looked more firm yet bouncy.

June 2018 Favorites
3D Transparent Glitter Heart iPhone 7 Case
My old iPhone 7 case started chipping so it was time to replace it with a shiny new case. I found this adorable case on Amazon for a few dollars. It's super cute and sparkly!

Bluetooth Headphones
Cordless headphones are life changing! I'm someone who is constantly wearing headphones because I'm always listening to music or podcasts but when the cord gets caught on something it throws off my grove so I bought these. The only annoying part is that they only last a few hours before you have to charge them again.

Disney Ufufy Plushies
Ever since Ufufys debuted in Japan I knew it was going to be a Tsum Tsum 2.0 all over again! Since I didn't have space to feature all of them I just choose my favorite Ufufy, Marie. The Disney Store is currently selling them 1 for 2 so if you are interested in starting your Ufufy collection now is a perfect time!

June 2018 Favorites
Lifestyle Blogging Basics - Laura Lynn
I really want to start taking blogging seriously so I bought this book about lifestyle blogging written by Laura. To be honest, this book was recommended to me through Amazon but apparently I follow her blog on Bloglovin but I didn't know she had released a book. It covers a lot of important topics about blogging that I found really helpful. I found Laura's "How I failed at..." sections really inspiring. This book was published last year so it covers relevant topics such as how to work with brands, social media and connect with the blogger community. I would recommend this book to those who want to start a blog or a blogger who wants some general advice on blogging.

Reasons to Stay Alive - Matt Haig
Another book that I started reading was Reasons to Stay Alive. Such a bold tittle I know. The book is about Matt's story about his journey with depression. I could relate to a lot of Matt's feeling and found some of his advice really helpful. He mentions that working out regularly really help him with his depression which is the same for me, that's why I set goals for myself. I've started collecting books dealing with mental health to help me with my depression and anxiety so if any of you have any recommendations I'm all ears!

Health + Fitness Goals ♥ July 2018

July is the start of the second half of 2018. It's time to reevaluate your life and start living the life you want! Instead of dreading the fact that its summer and that I'm going to be 25 later this month I've decided to make life changes. One of those being my health.

If you've been reading my blog for the past few months then you know I've been struggling with my mental health. There are a bunch of things that have contributed to the depression but one of the top ones is my weight. I've always had issues with my weight (it runs in the family) and I don't think I ever feel 100% comfortable in my own skin but lately, it's gotten worse so I made myself a life of health and fitness habits that I would like to pick up. I probably won't do all these every day but my goal is to try to increase these habits into my life as much as possible

I don't have a "goal weight" because I don't weigh myself (I think it's toxic) instead I'm going to base my results on how I look and feel. Hopefully, I can feel comfortable in my skin and be able to wear cute outfits again. Feel free to join me if you like, we can encourage each other!

Wake up earlier
Workout first thing, eat breakfast, do my daily work, plan my blog, read, maybe sneak in a midday nap. There is so much you can do when you wake up first thing. On days when I go to work my days will be different but on my days off I really want to stick to an early lifestyle.

Morning meditation
I already started including meditation in my morning routine before work. Sometimes it helps but not always. Hopefully, by mediating more, it will help me feel better.

New workout plan
This month I'm starting a new workout plan. It's a 7-day workout by Lucy. I did three of her 7-day workout videos last week and already saw results! I felt amazing afterward and did see more definition in my body. I'm going to continue doing her workouts in July, all month. I know it may sound extreme to workout every day but I've done it before and the results will keep me motivated.

More fruits and vegetables
When I'm hungry for a snack my first reaction is to eat a protein bar but too many of those aren't good for you so I'm going to try to eat more fruits and veggies as snacks. I actually already started this goal by drinking fruit smoothies and smoothie bowls.

Meal plan as much as possible
Ideal, I would want to meal plan on Sunday and add them to containers but we don't have space in our refrigerator. Plus, I hate over leftovers over 3 days. What I'm going to do instead is keep big batches of food in containers and make meals with what I have.

Try going to the gym
I wrote try because knowing me I might not end up going. The reason I want to go to the gym is that I want to get back into running. I love fast-paced workouts that take up a lot of energy and I just don't get the same "rush" when I do indoor cardio workouts. My mother is also always asking if I want to go with her (she goes to the gym pretty much every other day). The only thing stopping myself from going is my social anxiety.

No late night eating
This can be somewhat difficult because of the times I eat. I eat when I'm hungry and sometimes that isn't till it's late night. I guess I need to start scheduling when I eat.

Avoid late night coffees
One of my bad habits is drinking coffee at night. I don't think coffee effects me but sometimes I end up staying up at night longer than usual. If that's the case though, why doesn't it keep me up in the morning? haha

Yoga 2-3 times a week
As much as I would like to do yoga every day, I know that I can't. So I'm aiming to include yoga into my routine 2-3 times a week.

Go to bed earlier
My sleeping schedule is so screwed up at the moment. My current time that I go to bed is 4 am, which isn't ideal. The other thing is that I also wake up at 7-8 am so I only get a few hours to sleep and end up waking up feeling so exhausted. Hopefully by incorporating all of the habits above it will help me sleep earlier.

Do you have any fitness or health goals?
